Hey Danno! That easel is so old! from way back in the late 70's. Now I find them in Biglots for a couple of bucks~ The paper, it's the slick plastic coated side of freezer paper! I was doing painted poster board (painted on the slick side ) But for playing around trying to get these scrolls understood, I wasted several peices, then tried the freezer paper. The paint works easily on it and scrolls seems to work best on a slick surface to start. Plus I'm trying to make a design book, trying to get a local gold wing club as a job. This is what they want so instead of waiting for warm weather to paint poster board, I just roll out and clamp some of this to a wooden board. I'm cheap! lol! only cuz I'm as broke as everyone else these days!
Practicing upright is more comfortable when starting out. Once you get it down, then start practicing flat, for doing automotive. Doing bikes, the spaces are small, so I'm trying out designs big, then shrink them. It keeps me out of trouble and away from the tv lol!
Have fun, post up and keep it wet! :)
